J. SUMMERS and my partner are co-owners of an all Women’s Resort in Palm Springs, moved to the desert almost fourteen years ago from our home in Manhattan Beach, California. At that time, I held a full time job as vice president of sales for the leading supplier of software applications to the apparel industry for retailers and manufacturers. My background in sales and marketing came from owning my own apparel company in the 1970s. I climbed the corporate ladder and had a very successful career for more than 25 years.

I spent my early days after high school and during college as a nun and teacher. After leaving the convent, I embarked on another career using my musical talents. I performed in several singing groups and all girl bands when it was not fashionable to be a girl drummer. I come from a musical family, and my father and grandfather were both drummers.

The hotel has a wine cellar, which is an entertainment club where you can occasionally find myself and Donna entertaining the hotel guests.  Donna is a wonderful singer, song writer and guitar player, while I am the hotel's resident artist and baker.
